PANO – The Prime Minister has agreed on the establishment of three corporations under the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT).
According to the Prime Minister’s Decision 88/QD-TTg on the restructuring VNPT, the group will have three corporations: VNPT-Net, VNPT-Vinaphone and VNPT-Media, which are responsible for network infrastructure, telecom services and media, respectively.

According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, VNPT-Net will be in charge of wire and wireless telecom, satellite, and other telecom operations, produce and sell domestic and international telecom and information technology products for VNPT-Vinaphone, VNPT-Media and other operators.
Meanwhile, VNPT-Vinaphone, with chartered capital of VND 5.2 trillion, will do business in telecom-IT products and services. The corporation targets to achieve VND 26 trillion in turnover by 2020 and VND 3.3 trillion in pre-tax profit. Other targets include an average growth of 49 per cent a year and mobile service share of more than 30 per cent and broadband share of over 80 per cent.
VNPT-Media will operate with chartered capital of VND 2.3 trillion. It is responsible for studying, developing and producing software service products, communications and television and other publishing activities.
