PANO – Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, the People’s Council and Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front on February 23rd held a get-together for senior revolutionaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and veterans in localities under Sai Gon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh’s Party Committee.

The agencies also offered incense to fallen soldiers and people, who sacrificed for the national independence and freedom, at the Ben Duoc Monument dedicated to them and Gia Dinh Temple in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, attended by former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai and Deputy Minister of National Defence Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Thanh Cung, delegates recalled the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party over the past 85 years, and laid stress on the great contribution and special meaning of the revolution of Sai Gon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh to the national reunification and national construction and protection.
Inheriting and promoting that tradition, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, authorities and people have strived more to obtain outstanding achievements in all fields. The city has maintained its leading position in many fields, actively contributing to the key Southern economic zone and the whole country.
The city is carrying out creative and effective solutions to achieve its set targets in the 2011-2015 period and trying its best to take the lead in industrialization and modernization.
