National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said in her tour to the Hi-Tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 9 yesterday that the park was the city’s good development strategy.

Leading a delegation comprising of leaders to the Hi-Tech Park, Ms. Ngan had a meeting with the management board to listen to reports about the park. Ms. Ngan highly appreciated the planning, investment and development strategies which the city’s Party Committee has verified through its sessions over 12 years.
The park has harvested good fruits with impressive results including attracting 68 projects totaling worth US$4.175 billion and export value of more than US$10 billion.
Ms. Ngan said the city has had a good vision to build the hi-tech park; accordingly she expected that the city would boost more investment for the second phase of the park as well as to draw conclusion and experiences from reality to pave the way for the whole country to follow.
The NA Vice Chairwoman and the delegation also visited the NANOGEN Biopharmaceutical Company and the Research Laboratories of Saigon High-Tech Park. Ms. Kim Ngan and delegation members were happy at NANOGEN Biopharmaceutical Company’s scientific researches of medications for cancer, hepatitis, diabetes, hearts diseases and kidney failures.
These medications not only meet 80 percent of the domestic demand but also are exported to more than 10 countries in the world, earning ten million dollar every year.
