VGP – Vietnamese citizens and their legal entities abroad from now on can directly call the number +844.62.844.844, a recently launched hotline, to provide information and make requests for help.
The newly operated hotline shows determination and efforts of the Vietnamese Government and particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in improving the citizen protection abroad.
The round-the-clock hotline can serve over 1,500 calls per day and be expanded when the number of calls rises sharply.
Addressing the launching ceremony on February 2, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh spoke highly of the hotline’s importance in the State’s citizen protection as the country is further integrating into the world.
There are nearly 5 million Vietnamese living and working abroad, including over 500,000 workers, over 100,000 students and over 200,000 women marrying foreigners.
The hotline will help Vietnamese citizens abroad quickly contact with switchboard operators, officers who directly handle work related to citizen protection and legal entities who grasp matters related to the host country’s laws and visa regulations.
The hotline has been built, managed and operated by the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Department and the military-run Viettel telecom service provider.
