PANO – Through telemedicine, Military Hospital 175 of the Ministry of National Defence at noon of February 21st instructed doctors and nurses of Truong Sa Lon Infirmary in Truong Sa Island district, Khanh Hoa province, to successfully operate appendectomy for a patient.
The surgery at Truong Sa Lon Infirmary
The patient is Private Nguyen Thanh Diep, aged 22, who is on duty on Truong Sa Lon Island.
Diep had stomachache in the evening of February 19th or the first day of the lunar New Year. His pain worsened the following day. In the morning of February 21st, he was hospitalized at the infirmary. His symptom was diagnosed as acute appendicitis and he needed an urgent surgery.
Watching the surgery, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tuan, the political commissar of Truong Sa Lon Island, said that success of this surgery on the first day of the Lunar New Year (Tet) secured a warm Tet festival for troops.
