PANO – Military Zone (MZ) 7’s Defence and Security Council held a meeting on February 25th to review its tasks in 2014 and develop missions for 2015. Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister, chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates highly valued the zone’s direction and implementation of defence and security education for their troops and locals, especially for people in mountainous and remote areas and religious dignitaries. The zone’s troops lived with locals and took part in various local activities to welcome the Lunar New Year.
For his part, General Ty praised the zone’s constituent units for their efforts and urged its commanders to focus on strengthening the council under the National Defence Ministry’s instruction, improving the quality of defence education with specific methods. He also asked them to take care of troops in border areas and on islands.
In conclusion, he laid stress on the importance of defence and people-to-people external affairs, contributing to building firm defensive areas and protecting the fatherland.
