Publicly announcing the local attraction of Luong Van Chanh Tomb and Temple

In the evening of January 30th at the courtyard of Luong Van Chanh Temple (Hoa Tri commune, Phu Hoa district), Phu Yen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Phu Hoa District People’s Committee held a ceremony to announce the aforementioned item and perform the opera themed “Love and Aspiration”.

According to the historical records, from 1578 to 1611, Sir Luong Van Chanh was assigned by Nguyen Hoang Lord to recruit migrants from northern regions to the region between Cu Mong Pass and Ca Pass for reclamation, establishing the village to form the southern borderlands. He was promoted Colonel General calledPhu Nghia Hau. Luong Van Chanh passed away on September 19th (lunar calendar) in 1611, honored as Head of Phu Yen land. The Temple and Tomb relics of Phu Nghia Hau Luong Van Chanh was ranked as the national historical monument in 1996.


In 2014, the 4-body linden in the temple campus was recognized as the heritage tree by Vietnam Association for Preserving Nature and Environment.


With the value of history, culture, tourism, the PPC decided to recognize the Historical Relic of Tomb and Temple of Sir Luong Van Chanh as the local attraction. Phu Hoa district People’s Committee in Phu Hoa district takes the responsibilites for the general management; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related departments, agencies coordinate to successfully implement the contents of managing, protecting and exploiting the local tourist attraction as prescribed by law; protecting, preserving and developing tourism resources, facilitating for tourists to visit.


On this occasion, the Theatre Club 10/5 (Phu Hoa district) performed the opera “Love and aspiration” (author Pham Ngoc Son) to serve officials, residents and visitors. The opera bears the content of praising the contribution and virtue of Phu Nghia Hau Luong Van Chanh during the cause of clearing and establishing the village for borderland.
