(Source: tuoitre.vn) The Tay Ninh provincial Health Department on March 10th launched the first methadone treatment facility of the methadone replacement treatment program made operational in the 2013-2018 period. According to Health Department statistics, so far, the province has 2,540 cases relating to drugs, of whom 2,357 drug users in the community have been managed. Tay Ninh city and Hoa Thanh district are two localities that have large numbers of drug users with 530 and 270 respectively. Methadone replacement treatment is effective, safe, low cost and emotionally,beneficial to the recovery of health and family relations. To carry out the program effectively, in the coming time, Tay Ninh province will strengthen communication so that drug users understand benefits of the program and can voluntarily participate in the program. Besides, the province will continue to expand the methadone replacement treatment program in the locality./. |
