The funding is a continuation of Robins and Central Group’s efforts in supporting education in fast growing nations in Southeast Asia.

“Ultimately we see today as being a gesture from Central Group toward bringing the two countries a little closer, with the sharing of the culture and language of Thailand to students of USSH,” Jariya Chirathivat, board member of Central Group, spoke at the ceremony held last week to hand over the donation to the university.

“With the continued investment of Thailand in Vietnam and the broadening and deepening economic ties that the two countries are enjoying, we also hope to groom a large number of students into employment opportunities with companies from Thailand in the future,” she said.

Professor Nguyen Tuong Lai of USSH said: “Electronics equipment and technology are essential educational tools boosting student achievement. We believe the student will greatly benefit from this donation.”

Last year, Robins Department Stores made donations to two schools in HCMC on the occasion of opening the second Robins department store in Vietnam at Crescent Mall in the city’s District 7.
