Two miners were killed when the shaft in an illegal gold dig collapse in the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan on March 10.

The two victims are Dang Van Hoa, 21, and Ban Van Lam, 20.
One died in the mine collapse, the other on the way to hospital.
Local authorities said collapse occurred at 8am in Thuan Mang Commune, Ngan Son District, and they are investigating.
Illegal gold mining has been taking place in Thuan Mang Commune since 2008, and in a number of localities in Vietnam, including Bac Kan, Quang Nam, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Phu Yen, Kon Tum, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Thai Nguyen.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment says illegal mining activities, which are covered by national safety standards and worker regulations, take place in 47 out of 63 cities and provinces.
