(VOV) – Traditional and modern wood, bamboo and rattan furniture of over 30 Vietnamese businesses were a feature attraction on March 13-16 at an international trade fair held in Singapore at the Expo Centre.
The four-day event saw thousands of representatives from more than 39 countries around the globe, including 16 from Asia finding their way to the Vietnamese pavilions to work out trade and cooperation deals.
Ms Nguyen Viet Chi, commercial counsellor from the Vietnam Embassy in Singapore said this year’s event was much larger than last year’s but the final number and total value of orders placed hasn’t been tabulated yet.
The fair also provides enterprises the opportunity to get updated on the latest design trends in the industry and trends in consumer’s taste in order for them to improve their products, Chi said.
She said that Singaporean retailers in particular really enjoy the modern design and colour of Vietnamese furniture.
They also like the unique beauty and high quality lacquer finish making it durable and long lasting.
According to official statistics, the total export volume of wood and wood products to Singapore in the last year has increased by 40% to US$15.8 million.
