There were 190 craftsmen from 15 kite clubs nationwide showcasing nearly 230 kites of different colors and shapes.

Phan Thanh Sang, deputy director of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and head of the organizing committee, said the event was for kite flyers to gather, exchange experience and strengthen cooperation.

The event ended on March 1. The department said it would choose outstanding kites for the International Kite Festival set to take place in Vung Tau in April.

Along with most visitors to the event, Vu Anh Hung from Vung Tau kite club and Nguyen Huu Toan from Saigon kite club in HCMC praised Ba Ria-Vung Tau authorities for holding the event, saying they will continue attending more kite festivals in the coming time.
