Deputy PM Hai made the statement at a reception for the Governor of Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture, Yoshinobu Nisaka, in Hanoi on Wednesday, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Hai told his guest that he highly values the fruitful cooperation between the Japanese prefecture and the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as many Vietnamese provinces, during the past few years.

The Vietnamese official suggested that the Japanese prefecture send specialists to the Southeast Asian country to assist it in fishing and preserving and processing aquatic products.

Governor Nisaka said his ongoing visit to Vietnam is aimed at discussing cooperation in the said fields with such provinces as Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Binh Dinh, and Khanh Hoa.

He added that his prefecture excels in agriculture and seafood development.

The Japanese also expressed hopes that the Vietnamese government will create all possible conditions for the two countries to foster collaboration on agriculture, trade, and tourism.
