Hanoi- Exhibition “Four seasons through the window”

Until Mar 21,

L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street

Entitled Through the Window, Duong describes her works as what she sees through her window after her kids go to school.

“I stay at home alone with a cup of hot coffee in hand, listening to Rachmaninoff and looking out of the window. It is a large window overlooking lush vegetation, the bright sun of summer, the falling leaves of autumn, the grey and gloomy skies of winter and the fragile, icy space that precedes the arrival of spring.

“I like to stay and think like this. Nothing important, just the reflections of an ordinary person, an ordinary woman, an ordinary mother.

“The coffee is cold, the music has stopped, four seasons pass, and… I paint…”

Hanoi-Exhibition “Two Sisters – Two Frontlines

1642197-0wbkyke

Mar 8,

Vietnamese Women’s Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet Street

An exhibition on the occasion of anniversary of 55th “Long-haired army” (1960-2015) and 50th “Three responsibilities” Movement (1965-2015).

After the Geneva Agreement on Restoring Peace in Vietnam was signed in 1954, Vietnam was divided into two regions. The North was liberated and entered a period of building socialism. The South continued the struggle for unification, and struggled directly under US imperialism.

Founded in 1961, the Women’s Union Liberation of South Vietnam became an effective banner to bring women from all classes towards resistance. Women in South created the legend of the “long-haired army” – the Nation’s pride and the enemy’s fear.

Women in the North were eager to join the “Three Responsibilities” movement launched in March 1965: taking responsibility in industrial production, taking responsibility in family life and taking responsibility in combat and defending the homeland.

Entry fee: VND 30,000
