PANO – The organizing panel of the 2015 English Champion (EC) for the 4th – 8th grade students presented scholarships to five of the contest’s winners at a closing ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on April 6th.

They are Dao Khang Duy, Class 4B at Vietnam-Singapore Primary School in Hanoi; Duong Minh Khoi, Class 5A0 at Ngoi Sao Primary School in Hanoi; Vu Quynh Anh, Class 6A8 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary School in Ho Chi Minh City; Cao Nguyen An Huy, Class 7/11 at Nguyen Hue Secondary School in Da Nang, and Bui Linh Ngoc, Class 8C at Experimental Secondary School in Hanoi.


The event is an annual and free English competition, co-organized by the Learning Promotion Centre, EQuest Foreign Language Institute, and Viet America Teaching Centre in Hanoi.


This year’s contest drew nearly 16,000 participants across the country. The first and second rounds were multiple choice tests to assess their reading and writing skills, and math and science knowledge, respectively, while in the final, they should deliver an eight-minute speech.


VND 10 million went to the first prize winner, VND 2 million to the second, and VND1 million to the third. In addition, they were presented with scholarships by the US sponsor Ivy Preparatory Academy.
