| The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre has inaugurated a space for displaying and introducing art performance activities at the Duyet Thi Duong theatre, one of the oldest in Vietnam, after its restoration. Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center Phan Thanh Hai said the theatre’s stage had been restored and the interior had been thoroughly overhauled. Hai pointed especially to the display area of Nha Nhac, a type of the Vietnamese court music, court dance and court classical Vietnamese opera, introducing a number of photos, costumes, musical instruments, masks, and other relevant materials to the public. The Duyet Thi Duong theatre was built in 1826 in the Minh Mang Dynasty and served as the Royal Theatre.  Art performance at the Duyet Thi Duong theatre. (Source: thanhnien.com.vn) At present, the Duyet Thi Duong is place for Nha Nhac and Hue song performances of the Hue royal artistic troupe. It draws the participation of more than 2,500 tourists each month. Most of tfhem are international tourists. Especially, during Hue festival, it attracts many foreigners. There is often no vacation in each performance. A part from attraction by Nha Nhac, visitors also want to study the face of one of the oldest theatre in Vietnam./. |
