PANO – Hanoi has collected signatures of over one-million people protesting nuclear weapons.
This information was made by Ms. Dao Thanh Huong, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Peace Committee, at a ceremony to receive the nuclear weapon protest on April 17th.
This activity is in response to the 70th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
The Japanese Council Against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs launched a campaign to collect signatures of peace-lovers around the world to advance the struggle for nuclear disarmament as nuclear weapons have undermined global peace and security.
The organization panel planed to hold peace demonstrations in New York this month.
