Japan to extend agricultural and high-tech cooperation with Vietnam

PANO – Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai welcomed Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Hiroshige Seko on April 12th.


The Vietnamese official underlined that the guest’s visit, aiming at increasing Japan’s investment in Vietnam in general, and in Ho Chi Minh City in particular, contributed to strengthening the bilateral relationship.

Mr. Hai briefed the Japanese guest on the city’s socio-economic development over the past years, especially cultural exchanges and education and training cooperation between the Japanese Government and localities with the Vietnamese Southern hub.


He hoped Japan would continuously support Vietnam in areas of priority, including education and training, and health, along with agriculture and high-tech.


For his part, Hiroshige Seko spoke highly of the city’s growth and of the results of Japan’s ODA projects in the city, and held that Japan would extend cooperation in the fields that the city has proposed.
