PANO – Two warships of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) docked at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang city, on Aptil 16th for a four-day friendly visit.


The JS Kirisame (DD-104) and JS Asayuki (DD-132) destroyers, with about 500 sailors and officers onboard, are under the command of Colonel Sugimoto Masaharu, Commander of the JMSDF’s Frigate Fleet No.12.

During the visit, they are scheduled to meet with leaders of the Da Nang city People’s Committee and the Military Zone 5 High Command, play friendly football and volleyball matches with the staff of the Naval Region 3 Command, and visit the city’s tourist sites.


It was the third JMSDF’s visit to Da Nang. Previously, its ships had arrived in the city on September 17th 2011 and on October 18th 2013.
