YEN BAI (VNS)— Rivers in the city of Yen Bai are suffering from extreme pollution caused by dumped garbage and waste-water from homes and farms pouring directly into local rivers.
While residents in the Hong Ha District near Hien river complain about the stink of garbage, other residents continue to pollute.
Ha Manh Cuong, head of the Bureau of Environmental Protection at Yen Bai Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said local authorities would soon increase work on raising awareness of residents on protecting water streams. — VNS
