The ranking, which was announced by the Asia Record Organisation on May 18, includes Meritorious Artist-Director Nguyen Van Luong, painter Truong Han Minh and painter Dang Ai Viet.
Director Nguyen Van Luong sets an Asia’s record of making the most films on the country and people in the sea and island regions. Since 1998, Luong has made 221 movies on this theme, including feature films, documentaries and video reports. His record was recognised in Vietnam last year.
Painter Truong Han Minh was recognised for having the most ink wash paintings auctioned for charity. From 1977 to 2013, an estimated 200 of his paintings were sold through auction and all the proceeds went to charity.
Previously, in 2010, Minh set a Vietnam’s record with his longest ink wash painting on flower, themed “Prosperity, Honour, Longevity and Youth”, which later came under hammer for nearly VND2 billion (US$100,000) to aid poor and disable children nationwide.
Meanwhile, painter Dang Ai Viet, who held two Vietnam’s records with the most portraits of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and the first woman riding a Chaly motorbike through all 63 cities and provinces in the country to draw sketches of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, sets an Asian record for the most portraits of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers.
The certificates are scheduled to be presented to the record holders in late May when the General Director of the Asian Record Organisation make a working visit to the three Indochina countries.
