Philanthropists gave a combined VND276,780,000 (USD13,202) to five-month-old Vu Xuan Bach who suffered from heart disease for his successful surgery.
He was sent to the Hanoi Heart Hospital to undergo urgent surgery.
His family is poor, earning their living through agriculture and driving cyclos, and they did not have the means to pay for the child’s healthcare.
Still, Bach was in dire need of special care, including respiratory treatment that was costly.
Dantri readers contributed a large sum in small donations so that he could afford the treatment he needed. Others who could not afford it sent in letters of encouragement, all of which has helped Bach and his family.
The total amount received by the family towards Bach’s care was over VND70 million (USD3,338). His family also contributed all they could, with a combined VND206,780,000 (USD9,863) through Dantri. The money was given in early June.
Now Bach is in recovery, with his respiratory condition also improving and hopes to be released from the hospital in the near future. His family sincerely hope that he is on the path to full recovery, and send their warmest regards to all who have helped.
“We’re just so happy that our baby is getting better. Everything that people have done for us, through donations or even just well wishes has been amazing,” said the boy’s mother,” Ngo Thi Anh Nguyet.
