DONG NAI (VNS)- Dong Nai Province’s Anti-Crime Police Department swooped on a large-scale drug trafficking ring operating between the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong and HCM City yesterday.
Police have arrested the ring leader Nguyen Ngoc Thao and three co-conspirators – Nguyen Hoang Dai, Nguyen Van Thanh Long and Nguyen Ngoc Duy.
A large bag of synthetic drugs, along with 25 grams of powder, one set of precision scales and VND110 million in cash and several other exhibits were seized.
Prior to the raid, police apprehended Dinh Quan District resident Nguyen Quang Vu, 24, on Saturday evening while he was carrying six bags of heroin.
Vu confessed to having bought the drugs from Thao to sell to addicts in Bien Hoa City.
The case is now under further investigation.—VNS
