VGP – Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang received Mr. Georg Heindl, Austrian Ambassador and Mr. Igor Pacolak, Slovakian Ambassador on July 3 during which he committed to facilitating Austrian and Slovak enterprises’ search for investment opportunities in Viet Nam.
Ambassador Georg Heindl said that in recent years, trade between Viet Nam and Austria has been expanded continually, manifested by an export turnover of € 500 million (US$700 million). Austria has channeled to Viet Nam an ODA of €217 million, which are used efficiently in the hunger elimination, poverty reduction and socio-economic development.
Ambassador Igor Pacolak assessed Southeast Asia as a region having a fast economic growth. Especially, Viet Nam and Slovakia have established a long-lasting cooperation relationship.
Therefore, Slovakia would like to develop more intensively and extensively with Viet Nam, and expects Viet Nam to become an important bridge for Slovakia and other countries in the region.
At the meeting, Mr. Vu Huy Hoang praised the traditional relation between Viet Nam and Austria, as well as Viet Nam – Slovakia and hope that the Ambassadors will work to their hardest to further promote the bilateral relation, especially in economics and trade.
