Could you tell us more about Autodesk’s products?

Autodesk focuses on producing 3D design software for engineering, manufacturing and entertainment. Our commitment is to support design technology for new production in the ASEAN region, especially in emerging markets, such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand. Production is currently a leading growth industry in Vietnam, including a number of key industries, such as engineering, consumer products, auto manufacturing, transport and technical services.

Autodesk’s 2014 design software will boost innovation in manufacturing, provide unprecedented access to its software portfolio and allow the desktop and cloud computing for design, contributing to offering better product quality at faster speed and reduced costs.

Could you tell us more about Autodesk’s latest services in Vietnam?

Autodesk’s design software includes the Autodesk Product Design Suite and Autodesk Factory Design Suite. This software provides designers and engineers with a complete set of tools and cloud services to simplify design, visualization and simulation.

Autodesk’s 2014 design software portfolio offers a fast, accurate and flexible approach in order to predict, optimize and validate designs early in the design process. The new software provides manufacturers with the best tools for the job, contributing to increasing productivity and speeding up the return on profits.

What changes and trends will the manufacturing industry in the ASEAN region experience?

Manufacturers are facing many challenges. They have to adjust their business strategies to remain competitive. The product differentiation through innovation and on-demand manufacturing are three leading business strategies for growth. This is the general opinion shared by all competitors in the ASEAN market.

I have also seen some other changes, such as the cost management of on-demand products in a flexible manner and the cooperation with local production companies to offer products faster.

3D printing services and cloud computing are two technologies prompting change in the manufacturing industry. 3D printing service can help businesses create competitive advantages by better meeting the specific needs of customers. Autodesk’s software makes creating 3D models easier and helps manufacturers save costs.

Which field will be a key for Vietnamese manufacturers to remain competitive in the coming years?

Automatic machinery and transport; consumer products and industrial machinery will remain very attractive during the next three years.

Vietnam’s growth has been promoted by a young labor force and the change from agriculture to industry. An increase in private and foreign investment capital has brought significant changes for manufacturing industry and services.

Local manufacturers need to focus on increasing productivity in these emerging fields to meet domestic and export demands, such as electrical equipment, consumer products and spare parts. In addition, local manufacturers should focus on improving their value chains and global competition./.
