The IDFA Bertha Fund under the Amsterdam International Documentary Festival will support a film project, “A quid of betel and areca-nut starts the ball rolling”, by Duong Xuan and Bao Nguyen, and the online short-film festival, YxineFF, of Vietnam.
Scene in a film in YxineFF The two Vietnamese projects are among 6 projects for script and project development and 7 projects for production and post-production, selected from around 330 projects of 40 countries all over the world, and will receive assistance worth €209,000 from the fund in 2013.
The IDFA Bertha Fund assists developing countries in making documentaries and organizing film festivals, with the aim to promote indigenous culture films and support documentaries able to create changes for a better world.
