(VOV) -The Japanese Government has decided to transfer technology for rubella-measles vaccines productions into Vietnam by 2018.
The vaccine production will be implemented through the cooperation of a Japanese company under the umbrella of Daiichi Sankyo Group and the Vietnam Center for Research and Production of Vaccines and Biologicals (POLYVAC).
Accordingly, the Japanese group will send its researchers and technicians to work at the Vietnamese centre, while applying new technologies to mass-produce vaccines in Japan.
This is part of the strategic cooperation plan approved by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last May, which defines Vietnam as one of the country’s major markets in various fields.
Every year, Vietnam needs about 2.5 million doses of vaccine. Japan considers its cooperation as an active contribution to preventing the spread of diseases to the country.
