More meaningful gratitude activities held nationwide

PANO – The Command of Army Corps 1 offered free health check-ups and medicines to around 300 policy beneficiaries, needy people and those who rendered good service to the nation, in communes of Yen Tri and Doan Ket, Yen Thuy district, Hoa Binh province on July 22nd, as part of the “Gratitude month” program of the Corps on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day.


Earlier, the Command showed a film on the struggle against drug-related crime and social evils, and held an artistic exchange to praise revolutionary heroism, sacrifices and contributions of local people to the cause of national liberation and reunification, as well as consolidate the relations between Army Corps 1′s troops and local people.

Since the beginning of the year, units of Army Corps 1 have provided free health check-ups and medicines to 1,273 people in Hanoi and provinces of Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa, built 13 gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries, and raised VND 430 million for the “Gratitude” Fund.


* Recently, Major General Tran Van Minh, Director of the Department of Policy under the General Department of Politics, visited and presented the Defence Ministry’s gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, and a convalescent home for those who rendered good service to the nation, in Thanh Hoa province.


Speaking at a meeting with the centre’s leaders, General Minh highly appreciated the achievements recorded by its staff over the past time in taking care of war invalids, sick soldiers and those who rendered good service to the nation, and asked the party committee and local authorities in Thanh Hoa province to further create favourable conditions for the centre in the coming time.


Reportedly, the convalescent home in Thanh Hoa province takes care of 187 war invalids, sick soldiers, those who rendered good service to the nation, martyrs’ relatives, and Agent Orange victims.


* 1,000 war invalids, sick soldiers and needy policy beneficiaries received gifts and check-ups by young doctors from Military Central Hospital 108 and Hospital 103 on July 20th and 21st.


* Doctors from Hospital 211, Army Corps 3, provided free health check-ups and medicines to around 2,000 needy people, policy beneficiaries and ethnic people in 12 hamlets in Bo Ngoong commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province, from July 19th to 21st. Besides, the delegation and local youth took part in activities to beautify the localities, as well as artistic and sport exchanges.

* Various meaningful activities to help policy beneficiaries have been held by the Commando Arm. Over the past time, the unit built 8 gratitude and comradeship houses for policy beneficiaries and needy officers’ families, visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs’ relatives, officers and AO victims in Bac Ninh province where the unit is stationed.


* The University of Politics recently sent a delegation of doctors and nurses to provide free check-ups and medicines to 191 policy beneficiaries and those who rendered good service to the revolution, in Thach Hoa commune, Thach That district, Hanoi.


* A war memorial for people and troops who died at Long Dai Ferry was unveiled on July 20th in Long Dai hamlet, Hien Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. The structure, built at a cost VND 10 billion, is in response to the expectation of people in Quang Binh province in particular, and across the country in general.


* The Tay Ninh provincial Military Command and other units in the province from July 17th to 21st presented gifts, worth VND 130,000 each, and provided health check-ups for 400 needy people and policy beneficiaries in Thanh Dong, Phuoc Chi and Tan Lap communes.
