Over 15 million of tree species have been selected and seeded for afforestation plan in 2013, said a source from Quang Ngai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD).
Seedlings to be planted are Dipterocarpus alatus, Khaya senegalensis, Ironwood, Cinnamon, Litsea glutinosa, Acacia hybrid, Acacia mangium and Casuarinaceae.
The source also revealed the province plans to afforest 6,000 hectares of production forests and 320 hectares of protective forest this year.
Toachieve the planned target, from the beginning of the year, DARD has directed the Forest Management Branch to be in collaboration with the Division of Agriculture and Rural in the districts to guide and regularly inspect the seed tree species in order to ensure supplying high quality seedlings for afforestation.
