Fifty-nine more endangered sea turtles hatched on Quy Nhon beach in the central province of Binh Dinh on July 26 under close supervision of a group of local volunteers.

The hatchlings came out from a nest of 65 eggs; 60 baby turtles successfully tore their shells apart, but one died before reaching to the sea.

On July 22, a nest of sea turtle eggs hatched on the beach, and 110 baby turtles returned to the sea.

There are two more nests of sea turtle eggs which have not yet hatched.

Sea turtles are among endangered species listed in the Red Book. For years, many sea turtles have laid their eggs on Quy Nhon beach, so local authorities set up a volunteer group to protect the endangered species.

On June 25, local fishermen found a 4kg sea turtle, which was then released back into the sea in Binh Dinh province.
