Vietnam and Laos army press promote cooperation

PANO – Cooperation in media is a top priority between army press agencies of Vietnam and Laos. Reporters in general, and military reporters in particular, must promote dissemination to consolidate the Vietnam-Laos special friendship, said Major General Le Phuc Nguyen, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam People’s Army Newspaper.


The Editor-in-Chief made the remark at a working session with the visiting delegation from the Laos People’s Army Newspaper and Printing Factory, led by Lieutenant Colonel Khamsao Keoviset, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Laos People’s Army Newspaper, on July 30th.

The Lao delegation’s visit to Vietnam is a symbol of the friendship between the two armies, making contributions to promoting the understanding and cooperation in media between Vietnamese and Lao military press agencies.


At the working session, the two sides shared experiences in dissemination and publication, pointed out difficulties, and worked out a cooperative direction for the coming time.


Introducing the Vietnam People’s Army Newspaper, Major General Le Phuc Nguyen said that as an organ of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, the newspaper has disseminated far-reaching missions and activities of the army, outstanding examples and the relations of Vietnam and Laos. The newspaper is also an active participant in the fight against peaceful evolution and wrong thinking.

The two sides agreed to promote media cooperation through exchanges and said the online versions of the two newspapers should further promote cooperation in technology, program production and languages, as well as jointly organise major programs and events.


For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Khamsao Keoviset thanked reporters, editors and cadres of the Vietnam People’s Army Newspaper for their support to heighten the prestige of the Laos People’s Army Newspaper in the country.


He added that the Laos People’s Army Newspaper attaches much importance to cooperation with international newspapers, especially the Vietnam People’s Army Newspaper.


As scheduled, the delegation will visit the Army Print Company 1 and 2 and other units in the South, and pay a courtesy visit to leaders of the General Department of Politics.
