The interior road in Dan Cuong commune has been completed and put into operation in July of 2013 after 3 month-upgrade. It brings up excitement not only to farmers belonging to Ham Thanh 1 dragon fruit production group (Who are beneficiaries of ACP) but to almost all of normal residents in the same area also. This road section, previously, was so narrow and muddy that all the transportation of harvested dragon fruit was extremely difficult, which resulted in increasing cost of hiring labor, means of transportation, at an average tonnage of VND100.000. Right after more than 1km-interior hamlet-road was constructed, 115 hectares of cultivated area of 75 farmers got benefits from the possibility of door-to-door transport. “In addition, children of 20 residents surrounding the area will no longer wade across the muddy road on the way to school in rainy season” Mr. Son added.

Indeed, the newly-concreted road stretching over many dragon fruit orchards has positively changed the lives of many people here. Everyone feels satisfied and pleased with the benefit of joining into VietGAP Dragon Fruit Production Union. Mr Nguyen Duy Vu, chairman of Ham Thanh commune People’s Committee (Ham Thuan Nam district), expected all the interior hamlet roads will be also invested and upgraded one by one by ACP, but not only the road in Dan Cuong hamlet. Hence, it certainly helps the commune change its rural countenance visibly.
