(VEN) – To mark the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2013), Industry and Trade Review’s reporters and staff organized a sightseeing tour to Con Son-Kiep Bac historical site in Chi Linh District, Hai Duong Province.
The beauty of Con Son
Industry and Trade Review’s reporters and staff came to Con Son historical site at 8am. Nature has bestowed Chi Linh with a diverse range of natural landscapes, with the district boasting plains, mountains and lakes.
Far from bustling and noisy atmosphere in Hanoi, an autumn morning in Con Son historical site was pleasant and quiet. Reporters and staff as well as visitors can enjoy fresh air and the primitive and mysterious beauty. Nature has bestowed Con Son with a diverse range of natural landscapes, with the historical site boasting mountains, lakes and pine trees.
Together with the charming and poetic scenery in Con Son, many national heroes and cultural celebrities chose this place to seclude themselves from society.
Tran Nguyen Dan came to Con Son historical site to construct Thanh Hu Cavern in order to seclude from society. Nguyen Trai, a national hero, the world cultural celebrity lived a quiet life in Con Son historical site. At this place, he found a source of inspiration to write famous poems. In addition, Le Thanh Tong and Cao Ba Quat also visited this historical site and made famous poems.
President Ho Chi Minh came to Con Son historical site in February 1965. The president visited Thach Ban and Thanh Hu caverns and read epitaphs before Con Son Pagoda with a respect for national heroes and cultural celebrities.
After listening to brief introduction about Con Son Pagoda, Industry and Trade Review’s reporters and staff visited Pearl Well (Gieng Ngoc) and continued a journey to Nguyen Trai Temple and Kiep Bac historical site.
Kiep Bac, an interesting place
Nature has bestowed Con Son-Kiep Bac with a diverse range of natural landscapes, with the historical site boasting mountains, lakes and pine trees. In addition, Con Son-Kiep Bac historical site is a place to honor national heroes and cultural celebrities. |
Kiep Bac historical site is located in Hung Dao Commune, Chi Linh District, Hai Duong Province and is 5km from Con Son.
In the thirteenth century, Tran Hung Dao, who made great contributions in the fight against Yuan-Mongol invaders from the north, established an army base, stored up food and trained soldiers in Kiep Bac. In the fourteenth century, Kiep Bac Temple was built and is a place to host the annual festival in order to commemorate this national hero. Kiep Bac Temple is surrounded by the Dragon Mountain Chain and Luc Dau Giang River.
The temple currently has seven bronze statues and four ancestral tablets. Next to the temple is Vien Lang Mountain. Some people believe that this mountain is the burial place of Tran Hung Dao.
