The Viet Nam Construction Materials Association has urged the Government not to allow any more investment in the production of some construction materials like cement, ceramic and granite.
Current capacity could fully meet demand until 2015, it said.
Any investment in the sector should be in industries using high technology, it added.

52 companies set up in Long An in July
Forty-eight domestic and four foreign firms were incorporated in July in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Long An with a total capital of US$4.9 million.
So far this year some 520 local firms worth nearly VND7 trillion (U$330 million) and 24 foreign companies with a total capital of more than $84 million have received licences.

Binh Duong to build 700 new classrooms
The southern province of Binh Duong plans to build 700 school classrooms at a cost of VND1.4 trillion (US$66 million) in the 2013-14 school year to meet the rising need.
This year the number of students is estimated to increase by 24,000 from last year, most them in kindergarten and elementary schools.
The province also faces a shortage of teachers, especially at the kindergarten and elementary levels.

Labour export markets stable, says ministry
Most of Viet Nam’s labour export markets have been stable this year, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs reported.
In July about 7,230 workers were sent abroad, bringing the total number in the first seven months to more than 47,000.
The key markets are Taiwan, Japan and Malaysia in that order. Taiwan has hired more than 23,200 workers, while Japan has taken in 5,000.

400,000 people contract flu during H1
The Ministry of Health reported that in the first six months of this year, 400,000 cases of flu were registered among humans, with 57 per cent of them contracting A/H1N1 swine flu and six dying of it.
In HCM City, two out of every 100 patients coming to the Pasteur Institute were found to have A/H1N1.
