PANO – A contest to design a formal State dress to be worn at national and international events was launched on August 1st by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Designed patterns for either men or women of modern or traditional trends, and their accompanying shoes, hats and scarfs should be a symbol of the Vietnam’s national cultural identities, national pride, and affirm the national independent position with traditional culture. The State costume should also suit the country’s climate as well as Vietnamese people’s stature and are encouraged to be made from traditional domestic materials.
Entries should be sent to the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition from October 1st – 5th 2013.
Total prize for four best designs is 120 million VND.
