Ms. Bui Thi Lap in Tho Xuyen hamlet, Lam Son commune (Thanh Mien, Hai Duong) is struggling against many diseases to stay alive.
Every day, Ms. Lap has to “live with” medicine to treat many diseases
Born in 1954, Ms. Lap has been handicapped in one leg and unable to normally move one arm since she was a child.
In addition to poor health, she suffers from many other diseases, such as dorsal vertebrae degeneration, asthma, headache, and high blood pressure.
Ms. Lap said, “I now have to live with medicine, which is unaffordable to me. The pain was once so unbearable that I dared go to the hospital and only ate meals worth VND10,000 each. I leave some diseases untreated by lack of money.”
She has 2.2 sao of fields (each sao equals 360m2). Earlier, she hired them out to other people to transplant rice seedlings and earned 25 – 30 kg of paddy/ sao/ crop.
For around 4 recent years, the tenants have returned the fields to her, no one hired them to transplant rice seedlings anymore because of unprofitable production.
The State supports Ms. Lap with VND180,000/ month, too little for her to cover the treatment and life.
Any help please send to the address: Ms. Bui Thi Lap, Tho Xuyen hamlet, Lam Son commune (Thanh Mien).
