Vu Van Diep and the largest pair of wealth vases made of nghien gnarl in Vietnam
The Vietnam Book of Records (Vietkings) has confirmed that a pair of wealth vases of Vu Van Diep, owner of Oanh Diep fine-art woodwork production facility in Dong Giao hamlet, Luong Dien commune (Cam Giang, Hai Duong) is the largest pair of wealth vases made of nghien (Burretiodendron hsienmu) gnarl in Vietnam.
Diep said he had bought a nghien gnarl (nghien gemstone), exploited from the bed of Na Hang lake in Tuyen Quang province, from Tien Phong Forest Product Exploitation and Processing Enterprise in Dong Tho commune, Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh) in 2003.
After many years of cherishing, he decided to make a pair of wealth vases.
It took 25 skilled craftsmen of the facility 5 months to complete the pair of wealth vases 1.8 m in perimeter and 2.52 m in height.
There are many beautiful natural patterns on the pair of wealth vases such as a stream flowing through clouds and gemstones now disappearing, now appearing in the stream beds. Especially, one vase has an S-shaped body very similar to the shape of the country.
The pair of wealth vases is priced at approximately VND1 billion.
