Preparations underway for National Day amnesty
NINH BINH (VNS)— The granting of amnesty to prisoners demonstrates the Party and State's policy of humanity and clemency for those who have shown repentance, said Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The Deputy Prime Minister made the remarks during his tour to Ninh Khanh prison in the northern province of Ninh Binh yesterday to inspect its preparations for the grand amnesty on the occasion of National Day (September 2).
Phuc, who is also President of the Central Amnesty Advisory Council for 2013, praised the prison staff in education and management work, especially the dissemination of the upcoming amnesty to all prisoners.
