The solemn ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party; Mr. Le Kha Phieu and Mr. Nong Duc Manh, former Party General Secretaries; Mr. Truong Tan Sang, President of Vietnam; Mr. Tran Duc Luong, former President of Vietnam; Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung, Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Van An, former Chairman of National Assembly; Mr. Huynh Dam, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
After visiting the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh, the State leaders laid wreaths at the Martyrs Memorial.
On the same day, a delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People’s Committee also visited the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh and laid wreaths at the Martyrs Memorial.
In related news, on August 30, Can Tho City celebrated the 68th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The August Revolution took place in Vietnam in August 1945.
