(VOV) – President Truong Tan Sang on August 27 received the newly-accredited ambassadors of Austria, Armenia, Sudan and Congo, who presented credentials to him.
Sang appreciated the effective cooperation between Vietnam and these countries in recent times and assured the diplomats that Vietnam creates the best conditions for them to fulfil their tasks.
He said Vietnam and these countries have developed traditional relations, laying a firm foundation for both sides to increase trade, economic and investment cooperation.
With its increasing role in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is ready to promote cooperation between ASEAN and these countries, Sang said, expressing hope that Austria, Armenia, Sudan and Congo will support Vietnam at regional and international forums.
He spoke highly of the encouraging results of agricultural cooperation between Vietnam, Sudan and Congo under a FAO tripartite cooperation model. He stressed with its advantages in various areas, Vietnam is willing to cooperate with these countries.
He also asked relevant Vietnamese agencies to work closely with the aforementioned countries to increase delegation visits and prepare the signing of agreements to boost bilateral trade ties.
Ambassadors Thomas Loidl of Austria, Raisa Vardanyan of Armenia, Sayed Eltayeb Ahmad of Sudan, and Owassa Daniel of Congo congratulated Vietnam on its recent development achievements and thanked the Southeast Asian nation for supporting their countries at international forums.
They conveyed their presidents’ invitations to President Sang to visit these countries to bring bilateral relations to a new level.
Sudanese ambassador Sayed Eltayeb Ahmad said a business delegation of Sudan will visit and attend an African investment forum in Vietnam this year to seek opportunities for cooperation.
Congolese ambassador Owassa Daniel said his country needs assistance from foreign countries, including Vietnam, and that its newly established industrial parks are looking forwards to receiving Vietnamese businesses for investment projects.
