BTO – Over the past years, the creative labor movement in the province has brought many significant achievements, contributing to boosting the local socioeconomic development.
Remarkable accomplishments
Through the provincial technical innovation competitions since 2005, the number of solutions and theirs quality suggested by the HCYU member participants is often higher year by year. Particularly, in the 1st provincial technical innovation competition, there were only four creative technical solutions of the youth participants, but the number of participant solutions was elevated up to 54 including high prize-winning and far-reaching disseminated solutions, namely, replacing straw with wild peanuts for soil reclamation to develop dragon fruit towards sustainability of HCYU member Mai Thi Thuy Kieu – Plant Protection Sub-department; using Polymer substances for casuarinas plantation on roving sand hills of author Huynh Thuc Hai -Tuy Phong protection forest Management; Research on design and application of Photobioreactor systems to increase productivity of Spirulina Platensis algae at Vinh Hao Spirulina Corporation of author Vuong Nhat Anh Vu.
Upon mentioning to these fruitful results above, it can not deny the role of Binh Thuan provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) in conducting a number of meaningful activities for the youth, as follow:
First of all, the provincial HCYU has yearly launched the movement of “youth creativity competition” under the guideline of the Central Committee of HCYU. Secondly, the provincial HCYU in cooperation with the provincial union of Sciences and Technology Association held the province-wide technical invention contest concerning in all fields and attracting numerous HCYU members. Thirdly, the provincial HCYU collaborated with the department of education and Training in organizing the amateur computer technology contest for young attendees and honoring the young talents who had high achievements in study and creation.

Practical solutions
In the present time, the entire population of the province’s youth and HCYU members is 343,490 (accounting for 27.6% of the entire province’s population), whereas the HCYU members has only 63,970 people (making up 18.6% of the entire province’s population). In the face of the current limited number of HCYU members participated in research, scientific and technological application, many functional units have suggested a lot of useful solutions at the scientific workshop on the role of HCYU members in participating in research and scientific and technological application that was previously held.
Specifically, the department of Science and Technology has come up with the solutions to facilitating the HCYU members in participating in scientific and technological topics, projects launched by their units.
With respect to the solution from the department of Agriculture and Rural development, it needs to propagandize, raise the role of young cadres in proposing initiatives, research, building model of active, creative, high-skill and professional cadres; research orientation, encouraging and launching emulation movements, enabling funding for HCYU members demonstrate their ideas, initiatives in work.
In the meantime, the department of Trade and Industry offered the suggestions that each unit should recognize and timely honor outstanding individuals/collectives for their excellent achievements in study and scientific and technological application as a motivation. Otherwise, the provincial HCYU thought that forum and seminar are good playgrounds for the youth to inquire.
With these practical solutions, it is hoped that the HCYU members in Binh Thuan province can actively promote utmost their creativity to better contribute to the nation’s and province’s development.
