The central coastal province of Quang Ngai annually copes with dozens of floods in rainy season
Quang Ngai provincial people’s committee has just sent directions to localities proactively dealing with the upcoming flood and storm.
Plans of natural disaster mitigation and works of search and rescue are directed to be prepared and strengthened further in localities.
To ensure the feasibility of prevention and control plans, checking at site must be implemented strictly and frequently.
The relocation for all residents living in low-lying areas or in the hydropower reservoirs (including upstream and downstream) must be carried out before the rainy season.
Water transportation must be closely controlled before, during and after floods. Task forces have to be mobilized at the high risks of landslides and deep water position for the sake of guarding and guiding traffic.
Localities actively use the budget to purchase food, necessities and essential commodities in cased of prolonged isolation in flooding days, especially the island district of Ly Son and the highest mountainous district of Son Tay and Tay Tra.
They are also asked to pay much attention on propaganda to raise awareness of people in disaster prevention; forecast improvement and disaster warnings.
Troops and task forces must be set up already serving the works of search and rescue in need, especially machineries and means of rescue must be pre-tested to make sure smooth operation as requisition.
