Unlicensed doctors arrested in HCM City

Ten Chinese “doctors”, who were working illegally in Vietnam, tried to flee when HCM City police visited the Apollo Clinic.

The medical practitioners tried to flee as soon as they found out that the inspection team had arrived. However two were caught.


The clinic’s owner, Vong Vien Hai, claimed that they only had two professionally licensed doctors, but eight others were found hiding in the building. None of them had medical licenses.

A patient who was there when the incident occurred said, “I came to this clinic because of their advertisements, but in order to get treatment here we need an interpreter to speak to the Chinese doctors. Even though I’ve paid VND10 million, I still haven’t received any proper diagnosis or even an invoice.”

10 unlicensed doctors were detained pending the investigation by the Department of Health.
