Con Dao Museum opens for public

PANO – Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee inaugurated Con Dao Museum at Con Dao district on September 6th.

The museum was constructed since December 2009 at the cost of more than VND 62 billion, including VND 40 billion donated by the capital city of Hanoi’s party committee, authority and people.


On show are nearly 2,000 exhibits, images, documents, highlighting four themes of Con Dao-Nature and People, Hell on Earth, Front Line and Schools, and Con Dao of Today.


Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the committee’s chairman Tran Minh Sanh stressed that the museum is a significant structure which is keeping historical values and evidences of a heroic period of the country. This will be a venue for local people and tourists to learn more about national history and brave sacrifice of Vietnamese troops on this sacred land.
