In the morning of 10 September, Quang Ngai Provincial Public Security in collaboration with Binh Son Refinery co-organized the ceremony to establish the Armed Police Force to protect Dung Quat refinery.
Accordingly, this force consists of 27 officers and soldiers in charge of 8 watchtowers around Dung Quat refinery. They shall ensure the requirements and conditions of forces and means, aiming at perfectly protecting the safe of DQR. During the performance, they shall actively coordinate with PVS security force, Central branch to quickly deal with the hot problems related to the order and security in the area of Dung Quat refinery.
DQR is a national key project with the large influence on the socio- economic development, especially ensuring the national energy security. On 22 September 2010, the Prime Minister issued the Decision No. 1756/QD-TTg putting DQR into the list of important works related to the national security needing to be protected.
