Mekong Delta: Travel in tide- water season- part 1

Annually, from September to November, Mekong River Delta (MRD) starts in tide-water season. This is a good period to Mekong Delta tourism and tourism companies develop the typical products of the region.

Mr. Tran Duy Dat, Vice President of Mekong Delta Tourism Association said that although the domestic and international tourists often come there to experience the rivers and feel the typical cultural activities of the region. Therefore, the tide-water season is a chance for tourism companies to exploit these particular values.


Special features of tours in the tide-water season is that both tourists and the local people participate in the programs, spreading nets, fishing, boating, lifting net. Then they enjoyed their products of shrimps, fishes and vegetables of the river delta.


In addition, visitors are also living with the people of the river to experience and explore the vast waters of the Mekong Delta.


Thanks to the unique types and characteristics, tours of the floating season take attention from international and domestic tourists especially those who are youths, students and pupils.


Characteristics of river tour beam in floating season is short, low price, good quality. Departure time is convenient and flexible for each program, each particular tour.


Three provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, Long An are the source provinces where the Mekong River pours into Vietnam. Therefore, at the first period of the flooding season tourism of the provinces busily implemented river tour programs.
