Nguyen Du kindergarten, primary and secondary school in Vientiane held a ceremony on September 6 to welcome the new 2013-2014 school year.
The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos, the General Assembly and Municipal Assembly of overseas Vietnamese, Vientiane’s Department of Education and Sports, students and teachers of the school.
At the ceremony, Mr. Truong Van Tai, Rector of the school, said that in the 2013-2014 school year the school has 1,786 students, of whom, 355 are kindergarten students, 921 are primary students and 434 are secondary students and 76 high school students.
Apart from overseas Vietnamese children, in this school year, the school has also received many Lao children. Teachers have been also supplemented, many teachers have university and master degrees.
The school continue to raise awareness and political ideology for teachers and students to believe in the Party, as well as the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos; carrying out emulation movements to achieve practical results to mark great celebrations of the two countries; implementing four mottoes “Security, Clean, Green, Spaciousness” of Vientiane capital and three slogans of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, including good teaching and learning, social evil prevention, and good environment building in the school.
The school is also determined to improve the quality of professional knowledge of Vietnamese language and history of Vietnam.
At the ceremony, teachers and students expressed their commitment to teach and study well to repay the good turns of the two parties and two countries, contributing to preserving and developing the Vietnam-Laos special relationship./.
