The Long An Economic Zone Authority (Laeza) said Long An province licensed 57 Japanese investors into its industrial parks as of July 2013, including 40 investors in Long Hau Industrial Park. The answer by Mr Sawada, Director of Koganei Vietnam Co., Ltd, is possible enough to explain the reasons why Japanese investors have assembled in this industrial park. He said, “I have worked in Long Hau Industrial Park for two years and I think Long Hau has a proper attitude towards their customers, especially Japanese companies. They have helped us a lot. Of course, we sometimes confront difficulties in one way or another but whenever we ask them for help, they surely take and do. They recruit staffs who can speak Japanese well for my company and they even employ Japanese to keep managerial positions. Different languages are a common barrier for foreign investors but here they always have monthly meetings with Japanese tenants to listen to their issues and seek ways for broader cooperation. As far as I am concerned, no other industrial parks have regular meeting with tenants.”

Shorter time

The 288-ha Long Hau Industrial Park officially went into operation in 2007 in Long Hau commune, Can Giuoc district, Long An province. The industrial park is near Ho Chi Minh City and lies on the driving area of Ho Chi Minh City defined in its “Developing towards the East Sea” strategy, which includes Phu My Hung Township, Hiep Phuoc Port – Township and Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT). This strategic location helps investors to reduce travelling time and take advantage of technical infrastructure, services and consumption markets in HCM City. With its proximity to Phu My Hung Township, where lives a large number of foreign experts, investors will be more easily attract high-profile employees.

Less expenditure

Completed infrastructure systems like traffic routes, power grid, water supply and wastewater treatment facilities help investors save investment costs. In Long Hau, the management process meeting ISO 9001: 2008 standards always eyes to customer satisfaction. Language barrier is no longer a problem when our staffs can speak English, Japanese and Korean well. Even, we employ Japanese and Korean people. An investor will be supported from the time he starts his project until the time it goes into operation.

Sustainable development

So far, more than 120 tenants have leased more than 70 percent of rentable area, including 40 Japanese investors engaged in mechanical engineering, apparel and electronics. They usually rent workshops with area ranging from 256 square metres to 4,000 square metres. At Long Hau Industrial Park, Japanese investors have formed a sustainably developed community and make the industrial park a leading star in investment attraction in Long An province.
