World community impressed with Prime Minister Dung’s activities in the US

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Hanoi on Sunday after visiting France and attending the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. On Saturday he delivered an important speech at the UN General Assembly and took part in a number of activities in the US, which impressed the world community.


Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde said she appreciated Prime Minister Dung’s commitment to reforming Vietnam’s economy and expressed her optimism at its growth:


“I’m impressed with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s determination to stabilize the macro economy. Prime Minister Dung is in full control of the situation. We also discussed his resolve in ensuring social security, reducing poverty and stabilizing the economy by consolidating the financial system and solidifying the monetary policy as well as strengthening the banking system and restructuring state-owned enterprises. With its reform strategy, Vietnam will certainly maintain its economic stability and will hopefully reach a growth rate of more than 5%.”

Josette Sheeran, President of Asia Society, a US research and education agency on Asia, said she was impressed with Prime Minister Dung’s dialogue with American businesses:


“Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung delivered a clear message to the US Business Community about Vietnam’s vision and ambition in economic development and international economic integration. Prime Minister Dung specified Vietnam’s action plans in dealing with domestic challenges to demonstrate its willingness to contribute to the world. More importantly, the Prime Minister spoke from the bottom of his heart about Vietnam’s foremost difficulties and his personal commitments. Prime Minister Dung showed his strong support to economic reform, openness and transparency. He also stressed that Vietnam wants to increase its competitiveness by joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and free trade areas and is ambitious about creating jobs for the people. His message was clearly conveyed to US businesses.”
