PANO – Troops under Flotilla 2, Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Border Guards have successfully brought ashore a troubled trawler with 10 fishermen on board.

At 11:30am on September 30th, the flotilla was notified that trawler 9999TM, with Nguyen Viet Chinh of Minh Hai village, Thuan An town at the helm, had gone adrift at Tam Giang Lagoon due to its broken anchor rope.
A border patrol boat, a speedboat, and 15 cadres and troops were sent to rescue the distressed trawler. After 3 hours struggling against strong winds and huge waves, the border guards succeeded in bringing the trawler and fishermen safely ashore.
